THE GUIDANCE PROGRAM

October 2017

Lifetime education aims to transmit and support values all through a person’s life, enhancing our knowledge, know-how and professional know-how.

Lifetime education should help everyone to give meaning to their work, in an activity which they like to practice and in which they can acquire skills. This activity can change overtime.

The key values that can give meaning to everyone's action:

  • BREAK THE WALLS - REACH BEYOND THE LIMITS.
  • MOVE UP WITHOUT LIMIT – THE ONLY LIMIT IS IN US.

BREAK THE WALLS - REACH BEYOND THE LIMITS

THE FIRST WALL IS WITHIN US.
It is the wall of the will.

Breaking this wall requires commitment, courage, obstinacy and perseverance.
Breaking this wall requires us to continuously develop our inner force and continuously reach beyond our limits.
This force is the continuous will to impact on life and on our future; it is the pioneer spirit and the active optimism.

Breaking this wall involves, from a very early age, sharpening our ability to gather relevant information for a defined purpose, structure our methods of reasoning, connect information by sorting out data, prioritizing, analyzing, synthesizing, making up one’s mind, drawing out conclusions and action plans to achieve the target.

Breaking this wall requires us to train ourselves to be more and more focused and reach the highest possible level.

By focusing thus, we can truly see things globally by breaking the walls and bringing together different information, ideas, the background of relationships, in order to define and engage on the ground pertinent action.

Breaking this wall means cultivating this French Excellence in the training of our reasoning, mind structuring and memorization.

THE SECOND WALL IS ALSO WITHIN OURSELVES.
It is the "invisible" boundary, limiting the range of our ideas, opinions and possibilities.

We can often be stuck or rely too much on an idea that was once relevant, but no longer is, because the environment has changed. We can make the mistake of ignoring that necessary change, even is afraid of it, and even refuse it. Breaking this wall involves training from a very early age to being open, having critical thinking, and ability to challenge ideas and dogmas, and pushing towards curiosity, innovation and creative imagination.

Breaking this wall means cultivating this American Excellence in the training, in synergy with the French Excellence.

It means sharpening our continuous curiosity about life, about contributory changes and about interdisciplinarity. We want to think outside the box, to get out of uniformism and immobilism.

In short, we strive to be freer, assert ourselves, let our true original selves shine, and face necessary challenges or risks.

THE THIRD WALL IS BETWEEN OURSELVES AND OTHERS.
This is the toughest challenge.

We must break this wall to give meaning to our actions. We must train to do so every day of our lives.

From an early age, as early as in kindergarten, breaking this wall means kindling a ‘sense of others’, "awakening" to others, whoever they may be.

From kindergarten’s education, the team uniting teachers and parents of pupils must be exemplary in living this value and passing it on among the teachers, between this team and the parents, and among the parents coming from different backgrounds.

This idea drives the first kindergarten promoted by the Foundation B’Lao, in Phong Dien – Hue – Vietnam, near SCAVI Hue, which belongs to Group Financière B'Lao.

The Foundation B'Lao contributes to give to everyone, in the regions where its enterprises operate, the same chance, from an early age, through lifetime education.

The Foundation’s pupils have attained scholarships. There are about 200 children aged from 18 months old to 5 years old, and this is just the beginning. Their parents live in the region and are workers up to senior officers, within the group or not. They are in connections with the teachers within the kindergarten and outside.

Breaking that third and last wall means keeping the fire alive every day in one’s life. This is more than just accept and respect the other in what makes him different: his origin, culture, gender, religion, history, traditions, or social background…In fact, we must truly embrace a radical difference and gain from it while being aware of what makes us who we are and where we come from.

We can enjoy going towards the other, all others, to give and build, within the framework of collective values which we all believe in. This is in the present time and in future times; attention to the other is also given to future generations; by doing so, Lifetime Education of the Foundation B’Lao promotes the value of environmental respect and safeguard.

Again, those who have the responsibility of lifetime education must be continuously exemplary in the no walls’ attitude.

The Foundation B’Lao wants to promote this exemplarity within the scope of its action, via the partnership with companies including Group Financière B'Lao itself, which acts as a pioneer. This action must first be carried out in association with the companies involved in the industry of the Group Financière B'Lao, before being extended to other companies.

Breaking the walls starts in kindergarten. The effort becomes more intense in primary than a secondary or vocational school to university. Since the Group’s priority is to focus on vocational apprenticeship, the Foundation B’Lao operates with the group to ensure that these schools’ teaching team and the Group’s management team truly work "hand in hand". So, the trainees receive the relevant professional expertise, along with the core values- the main one helping them to break the walls.

Group Financière B'Lao works with the educational partners of the regions in which the group is located and aims at settling in the No Walls Educational Committee in 2017.

The first target is to bring together the Educational Program in the partner schools (vocational and university) with the Group’s Organizational System, which is the basis of the continuous Training in the Group, open not only to group members but also to the unemployed people living in the regions where the group operates. Among the latter, priority will be given to those who are in a poor social situation; their children, to whom they really want to give the chance they didn't have, could become pupils of the kindergarten.

This project is innovative and destined for a bright future

The policy of breaking the walls reaches its peak with the opening of the direction of the Foundation B’Lao, understood in the legal sense, to the managing ‘key members’, who are deserving members within the Group, regardless of their origins (founder’s family or not).

This innovation is exemplary for the members of the Group and for their neighbors, through the example of the group.

The Foundation B’Lao is the key shareholder of the Group and will become the majority one when the founder will withdraw.

This exemplary provision is definitely unique. It enhances the ‘no walls’ policy. Each of the Group’s members, whether current or future, is encouraged to work closely with his colleagues, break the wall that may separate them, support their progress on a daily basis, and ultimately consider their successes as his own. The responsibility value, the team spirit towards one’s colleagues, extended to the community, come from there.

The Group differs from other companies from the multiplicity of shared collective targets. These targets in common serve as the basis for assessing the members and spurring their team spirit.

The Group also differs by breaking the walls between the different functions and by globalizing the responsibility: this is stronger than anywhere else. This strengthens the unity of the Group facing its environment.

The Group differs at last by being willing to have a more committed and structured ‘no walls’ attitude towards the strategic partners, customers and suppliers alike. The Hub Club which connects closely all the Group’s partners is another innovation in the global industrial sector.
